Massage
A holistic approach

My approach to massage is one of treating the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. Long connecting strokes define and connect the body in a very nurturing way. Whether I am doing light, medium, or deep pressure, I employ these same long and defining strokes on the body. Muscles are allowed the space to “breathe” and relax naturally and organically. It is not “fast food massage”, nor is it invasive or meant to be painful. My style is my own unique variation of Esalen Massage.
Stretching in two directions
Like many of the poses of yoga, my style of holistic massage will often include integrative strokes in multiple areas of the body - often in two directions at once. If I’m working on a leg, I may also continue a stroke up the back and down the side of the body, then back to the leg again. Passive stretching throughout your range of motion in many directions helps to loosen the body and ease into relaxation.
A comforting connection
Throughout the massage, you are draped with a sheet at all times. Only areas that are being massaged are uncovered. You may undress to your comfort level, knowing that private areas will always be draped and never massaged or uncovered. For almost all of the massage strokes I do, I will do a “preparatory” palm-up hand placement on your body. This allows for a breath in preparation before working on the areas between my hands. Moreover, I strive to always stay in tune with your breathing, allowing for releases and the natural unfolding of tension in the body to occur.
