Spring is now upon us! This is the time of
year when we see the beginnings of the
abundant offerings that the earth brings.
Leaves sprout from tree branches. Lilacs
blossom and air their fragrance. Ducks and
geese make homes in every patch of water
around us. Nature returns.
For me, Spring is a time to really examine the abundance in my life, and to hopefully set in motion any renewing dreams I have. Within my work as a holistic health and healing practitioner, I've been "germinating seeds" of how I want to keep developing my practice. What ideals, principles, and practices do I want to place squarely in the center now? How can I both create and share in my abundance in a way that gives more life and meaning to me and those who come to see me? These have been my questions to myself this past month.
In the past, I've offered many discounts and specials wherever I have advertised. I enjoy providing massage and bodywork to a wide range of people, so I don't mind that some choose to pay my full price, while some pay my discounted price from my weekly specials list, or in ads that I have placed. I enjoy "sharing in abundance" with incentives that offer healing to others and to the Earth. Whether someone refers a friend, takes public transit, rides a bike to their appointment, or makes a pledge to conserve energy through the Minnesota Energy Challenge, I feel that I am sharing in my abundance wisely, because I'm sharing in the healing of others, and that of the earth.
With that, some changes are afoot. With the
added addition of online scheduling this
month for appointments, I'm also giving folks
the opportunity to now choose their own price
within a range for bodywork. I've made some
changes to my website to focus more on the
principles of my practice. Other plans are
churning, as I ponder altering my space with
more renewable and earth-friendly
features.
I hope that you enjoy this month's
newsletter, and that it inspires you to share
in your own abundance as
well!
Peace,
Scott Schumacher

But..that really isn't the big news. When
putting together my offerings through this
system, I took a look at how I structured
pricing and discounts for clients. Because I
was comfortable with my range of payment
options, I decided to make payment a
voluntary process as well. When going
online to schedule an appointment, you can
select your service and pricing level - no
questions asked.
Of course I have
many options available for 30-minute,
60-minute, and 90-minute appointments with
discounts for Students/Seniors, Transit
Takers, and those who ride a bicycle to their
appointment. These pricing ranges are a
guide. Please use them as such, and feel
free to choose the pricing that you are
comfortable.
There are a few guidelines for the online
system, however:
Rest assured, if you much more prefer the "human contact method" of making appointments, nothing has changed. You can always call to make an appointment!
Are you looking for a way to both reduce your
spending on energy, help the environment, and
maybe inspire others as well - AND- are you
interested in winning a FREE 30-minute
massage? While at the Living Green Expo, I
met the coordinators for the MN Energy
Challenge, and they are providing me with
many pledge cards! The goal of
the Minnesota
Energy Challenge is to empower
Minnesotans to take simple steps to reduce
their energy use and Minnesota's CO2 emissions.
For my clients and newsletter subscribers who pledge to take this challenge, I will place your names in a jar in my office, and then I will draw FOUR winners for a 30-minute massage in the months of May and June (2 in May, 2 in June). To enter, either fill out a form in my office at your appointment, or send an email to me at energychallenge@apeacefultouch.com, with your Name, Address, Phone Number, and email address. You will receive an email response with a link to the energy challenge website, and I will enter you in the drawing.
I would like to feature the winners in my next two newsletters as well, and perhaps share their experience in what they learned from the energy challenge, and how much they pledged to save! I'll be drawing the names on May 24 and June 25!
This past winter, I offered a discount for
anyone who biked to their appointment in
winter. I was completely inspired by the
many people I met who took advantage of my
$35 one hour massage special. I was happy to
give this discount, and everyone I met
inspired me to bike more in the winter as
well.
If you bike to your appointment, you can now
also select this special rate should you
choose to book online!

Do you have a haiku to share? It's a simple formula - 5 syllables in line 1, 7 syllables in line 2, and 5 syllables in line 3. That's it, 3 little lines, 5-7-5. Send your haikus to me at scott@apeacefultouch.com.
