Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese hands-on healing technique, where universal life force energy, or Ki, is allowed to flow from the hands of a practitioner to organs and energy centers of the body.

Reiki is an energy healing technique. You are fully clothed for a session (shoes removed). While lying on the massage table, time is taken to tune into your breathing. Hands are then lightly placed on the body in a series of positions - usually 2-3 minutes for each position - on both the front and back of the body. Many people experience Reiki as a kind of “glowing radiance” both inside and outside the body. Warmth, and often energy waves from the practitioner’s hands, create a very nurturing and deeply relaxing experience.

Reiki is often used not only for physical relaxation, but for the healing of emotional and spiritual trauma. The light touch and energy healing of Reiki are also ideal for anyone who is not comfortable receiving a full-body massage, but wishes to experience holistic bodywork.
